A Japanese YouTuber wanted to see if his fish could play a video game without help

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. A Japanese YouTuber wanted to see if his pet fish could play a video game without any help. He used a computer program that would move a Nintendo Switch controller every time his fish moved. Everything was going just fine until the fish accidentally opened the game's online shop. The fish spent 500 yen, about $4, in the online store. Luckily, Nintendo refunded the player, and the fish just kept swimming along. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
