Questions about security on Buffalo's Metro Rail were brought to the attention of WBFO News by some rail riders recently.
Fire alarm boxes and escalators have been out of service at some Metro Rail stations.
WBFO's Jim Pastrick spent a day riding the Metro Rail, talking to riders and then turned to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authorities executive director for some answers.
And a footnote to this story, State Assemblyman Sean Ryan will be hosting public meeting to hear from citizens regarding NFTA issues and the recent plans to cut up to 25% of its bus routes. The hearing is set for this Thursday night at 6 p.m. the Crane Branch Library on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
