New Year's Eve revelers counted down to midnight in downtown Buffalo. Hundreds gathered to watch the ball drop outside the Electric Tower on Washington Street and they didn't have to shiver.
Temperatures were close to 40 degrees early Saturday night. Live performances helped kick off celebrations around 10:30 p.m.
Then the countdown to 2012 was on and at the stroke of midnight the ball dropped. A few blocks away 4,000 gathered inside newly renovated rooms at the Statler Towers on Delaware Avenue for a sold out Ice Ball. Buffalo Mayor Bryon Brown was in attendance for the New Year's celebration.
