Buffalo, NY – As the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus continues to grow, so does the need for more parking. An effort is underway to expand a planned parking facility.

Mathew Enstice is president and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Medical campus. The original plan for a new parking ramp was for about 2,000, however, it was scaled back, believing the campus would not need that many spaces. But now Enstice says they need the space.

Enstice says approximately 7,000 cars on average visit the Medical Campus per day. Some nearby neighbors living in the Fruit Belt section of Buffalo have voiced some concerns about the current parking situation.

The project is expected to cost $34 million. About 1,000 spaces in the ramp located at Michigan Avenue and High Street should be ready by next March then by the end of June remainder of parking will be ready.
