Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo and Erie County Library system is inviting the public to help celebrate National Library Card Month.
Library officials said that with students heading back to school, it is the perfect time to remind people about the valuable resources available for free with a library card.
Library System Director Mary Jean Jakubowski said a library card can get you a lot more than just a good book.
Jakubowski said there are more than 250,000 Western New Yorkers who carry a library card. And the library wants to recognize the person who has held a library card the longest. The winner of the contest will get the library's newly designed library card and other goodies.
Anyone interested in entering the contest or finding out details should call the library's communication department at 858-7182.
