Buffalo – Buffalo summers include plenty of ethnic festivals and celebrations. Thousands of guests are expected to visit two such festivals this weekend.
The Sorrento Cheese Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival is underway along several blocks of Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo. Events include music, cooking demonstrations, a bocce tournament, contests and, of course, plenty of food.
Meanwhile in Cheektowaga, the town park is hosting the annual Cheektowaga Polish American Arts Festival. There will be plenty of entertainment including live polka music, plus Polish folk music and dancing. There will also be a Catholic Mass performed at the festival Saturday at 4:45pm. Highlighting the festival is the Pulaski parade, which runs down Harlem Road from Walden Avenue to the town park, beginning at 1:30pm.

These are just two of the many ethnic-themed festivals happening this summer. Already, thousands have enjoyed the Hellenic, Juneteenth and Grease Pole festivals. Both the Buffalo Irish Festival and Amherst's Scottish Festival and Highland Games will take place next month.
