Buffalo, NY – Erie County Executive Chris Collins and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Upstate New York Transplant Services Mark Simon announced a partnership Wednesday between the county and UNYTS.
The Rath Building in downtown Buffalo will be hosting a series of blood drives throughout the remainder of the year.
County employees and others can come to the drive at their convenience during the work day. Collins talked about the importance of county employees donating.
The blood from these drives stays in our area, so Collins encouraged anyone who can donate to do so and help to ensure that more lives can be saved.
UNYTS officials said there are more accidents in the summer due to the nice weather, resulting in a lower blood supply.
