Buffalo, NY – Catholic Charities of Buffalo wraps up its 2011 Appeal Thursday. The campaign that began in March set a ten point five million dollar goal.
That was the same goal set last year, which fell just slightly short. Donations are still being tallied and a final report for this year's Appeal will not be ready for about another two weeks.
But Appeal Chairman Greg Maher said they are already ahead of last year. Maher said it is very encouraging.
Maher said a good final push came from donors who responded to a recent plea for additional support. Bishop Edward Kmiec said that he is grateful and humbled by the "extra mile" gifts they have received from donors.
