Buffalo, NY – A play premiered last year at Road Less Traveled Theatre Productions is enjoying some national success.

The critically acclaimed play, Insidious will be produced by the Black Repertory Theatre in Saint Louis, Mo. "The Black Rep," as it is more commonly known, is the nation's largest African American theatre company. Many works often go on from there to Broadway.

But an even bigger success story is the playwright himself. Buffalo native Ibn Shabazz is a recovering addict who overcame personal demons to create his art.

He sat in studio recently with WBFO's Joyce Kryszak to talk about his journey.

A revival of Insidious is running now at RLTP through July 10.
