Clarence, NY – The numbers may show a loss for independent candidate Jack Davis, but he says this is not the last you will see of him.

Davis lost the 26th Congressional special election Tuedsay night. Davis hosted election party at Brennan's Bar on Transit Road in Amherst for his supporters.

Davis says the independent candidates will continue to challenge the leaders of both the democratic and republican parties.

Davis ran on the Tea Party line. Davis told supporters despite his loss, he believes has gotten his point across.

"We can be proud of what we have done. We have changed the politics of Western New York. I have been at war with the job killing free traders since 03'. I have won battles and lost some. My motto is I have not yet begun to fight," said Davis.

Davis had previously run for the 26th district seat in 2004, 2006 and 2008.

Davis campaign volunteer Sandra Barile said she believes that one day an independent party leader will be the only one to get things done.

"People really need to read between the lines with the statuesque and I just feel that the Republicans and Democrats have not done anything. Not for me, not for any of my friends and volunteers. I just believe that we need to get a independent in there or a tea party candidate in there," said Barile.

Independent supporters said the loss for Jane Corwin was good enough for them.

Davis said this race was only a milestone in an unfinished war.
