Rochester, NY – With the special election to fill the vacancy in New York's 26th Congressional district less than one week away, two of the three major candidates debated the issues Wednesday night at Rochester public television station.

Republican Jane Corwin and Democrat Kathy Hochul squared-off, and while tea party candidate Jack Davis may not have been there, he was nonetheless a topic of conversation.

Corwin was asked about the video taped scuffle involving one of her staffers and Davis. She said Mark Malia was not acting in an official capacity at the time of the incident. Beyond questions surrounding the video tape, the debate for the most part was dominated by discussion of medicare and taxes.

You can click the above audio clip to hear Corwin and Hochul respond.

The special election is this Tuesday. The seat has been vacant since Chris Lee's resignation.

You can hear the entire debate on WBFO at 1'o'clock Thursday.
