Amherst, NY – Over the weekend a homemade lawn sign popped up on a resident's lawn along Transit Road in East Amherst near a new Muslim Mosque.

The sign boldly states "Bomb Making -- Next driveway".

As WBFO'S Eileen Buckley reports, the Jaffaraya Islamic Center of Niagara Frontier is located next door.

Qazi calls it a "highly inflammatory sign".

It's believe it was posted by one of the nearby neighbors.

Amherst Police received a citizen complaint about the sign.

Qazi said the resident has voiced his concerns about too much lightening on the property and hired an attorney.

WBFO News spoke with Amherst Police Lt. Bruce Mann about the investigation.

"It's under investigation. We have received some complaints by passerby's," said Lt. Mann.

"There are some first amendment issues we are looking into. Obviously people have the right to private property. Right now we are investigating what our options are and what the private citizens options are," said Lt. Mann.

The sign is still standing
