Buffalo, NY – Forest Lawn Cemetery has announced that a Canada goose successfully hatched her eggs.

For almost a month, the goose sat on her nest in an urn in Forest Lawn. Not so unusual, but a white-tailed deer has been faithfully standing by, helping to guard the mother goose as she waited for her brood to hatch. stoodby

The two became famous when a live Webcam was established so the world could watch the friendship.

Forest Lawn's resident buck has lived in the cemetery for several years. The deer served as a protector and spent hours each day hovering over the urn and watching over the goose and her eggs.

Forest Lawn is pleased to announce that sometime in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 27 seven eggs were hatched successfully!

Around 4:00 p.m. EST, mama goose jumped off the urn and coaxed her goslings to the ground, where they fed on the grass near the urn before beginning their walk to the cemetery's Mirror Lake.

The deer had been near the nest all morning, but eventually wandered off and watched from a nearby hill.
