Buffalo, NY – Thousands of volunteers hit the streets across the Western New York region Tuesday morning to sell a special edition of the Buffalo News for Kids Day.
The special edition sold for $1. Proceeds are donated to the Variety Club of Buffalo for research at Women and Children's Hospital.
About 3,000 thousand volunteers began selling the papers at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, standing at more than 1,000 locations.
This year's Kids Day mark's the 29th annual Buffalo News Kids Day.
The News says since 1983, sales of the special edition raised $3.8 million.
