Buffalo, NY – UB acting president Satish Tripathi has announced an interim appointment.
Professor Harvey Stenger has agreed to serve as UB's Interim Provost. The University said Stenger will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of UB's academic vision.
"In his nearly five years at UB, Harvey has provided exemplary leadership for the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, transforming UB Engineering into one of the top engineering schools in the country," Tripathi said.
A national search for a permanent provost is expected to begin in late summer. Stenger's appointment, effective April 1. Stenger currently serves as the dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Tripathi was the former provost, until he was nominated to be the next leader of UB.
Tripathi is expected to be approved as UB president when the SUNY Board of Trustees meets in Buffalo April 18th.
