Jury deliberations underway in City Grill case

By Eileen Buckley & Ashley Hassett

Buffalo, NY – Jury deliberations are underway in the murder trial of accused City Grill shooter Riccardo McCray.

The courtroom was packed Thursday with family members and members media as attorneys from both sides delivered their final summations.

McCray is accused of shooting four people to death outside the City Grill last August.

Family members were asked to control their emotions.

Defense Joseph Terranova delivered his closing argument this morning telling jurors the case is "one finagler after another". Terranova spoke for 40 minutes. He also said the witnesses in the case were not "trustworthy" and that their testimony created doubt.

Prosecutor James Bargnesi's final summation was an hour and a half in length.

Bargnesi told the jury it is a "simple case of disgusting and senseless terror and gun violence." He also reminded jurors that five identification witnesses testified that McCray was the lone shooter.

The prosecutor also asked jurors why those witnesses would blame the defendant if it wasn't him. Bargnesi noted ballistics also point to one killer.

Jurors will be charged and are expected to begin deliberations Thursday.
