Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Department of Public Works and City Engineers have closed the Stevenson Street Bridge along Cazenovia Creek.
Don Poleto is a senior engineer with the Department of Works. Poleto says they closed the bridge as a precaution until the water begins to recede.
Poleto tried a new technique this season to avoid major ice jam flooding. Crews cut triangle shapes in in the ice along the creek to ease the jams. So far, Poleto says it appears to be working.
