Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Sabres now say it is official -- Terry Pegula will buy the team.
The Sabres issued a written statement Tuesday saying owner Tom Golisano has reached an agreement to sell the team and its related companies to Pegula.
The deal is subject to certain closing conditions including review and approval by the National Hockey League. It is expected the NHL review process will take several weeks to complete.
Tom Golisano and Larry Quinn will hold a news conference tomorrow at Noon in HSBC Arena, but Pegula will not be in attendance. The Sabres say there will be no further comment until the press conference.
WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked with hockey writer Steve Manson of the Western New York Hockey Report.
