Buffalo, NY – Potential future owner of the Buffalo Sabres, Terry Pegula, took some very big steps toward making that transaction a reality this weekend.
Pegula met with the NHL's Board of Governor's five member executive committee on Saturday and, by all appearances, came away leaving a very good impression. ESPN-dot-com is reporting that a formal purchase agreement is expected to be announced by the end of this week, and sources are claiming that the transaction could be completed within a month.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman cautions that such transactions can take time.
The total purchase price for the Sabres has been targeted at $189 million.
