Schumer moves to expand DNA sample collections

By Chris Jamele

Buffalo, NY – New York Senator Charles Schumer is promoting a proposal that would allow for the expanded collection of evidence after the arrest of criminals in the state.

Currently, DNA samples can be collected only from convicted felons. Schumer's proposal would allow for the collection of DNA samples from people who have been simply arrested for felonies as well.
