Buffalo, NY – An investigation into a shooting of a suspect on the city's West Side is underway. A man refused to put down what is described as a samurai sword.
As WBFO'S Eileen Buckley reports, a Buffalo Police offer shot the suspect early Monday afternoon following a fatal domestic incident.
63-year-old Juan Castro is believed to have killed his girlfriend, 45-year-old Maria Pagan, and wounding her 15-year-old daughter, Zayra.
Buffalo Police issued an update Tuesday morning on the victims and suspect. They say Pagan was declared dead at the scene. Her daughter Zayra Pagan is being treated at Women&Children's Hospital.
Castro remains in critical condition at ECMC.
