Buffalo, NY – The National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York is renewing its call for civility in the height of the political campaign season.
Lana Benatovich is president of the local NFJC. The call for civility is being issued in the same week republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino was blasted by the gay and lesbian community for his anti-gay remarks. But Benatovich noted their organization does not target any candidate or campaign.
Benatovich says their organization works every day to promote respect, dignity and equality for all individuals.
The organization says it has grown increasingly concerned with what it believes are the declining levels of social discourse both nationally and within this community due to language and behavior of political and social leaders and media commentators.
