Buffalo, NY – Suspicions that Mayor Byron Brown has circumvented his own proposed hiring procedures for top jobs have been confirmed.
A Freedom of Information request filed by the Buffalo News has proven that no effort was made to recruit nationwide candidates for police, fire and economic commissioners as promised, and Brown's calendar for the year was devoid of any interview appointments. Questions arose when Brown tapped his circle of campaign contributors in naming candidates to the posts.
Critics claim the administration is "treading water."
