On this day in Buffalo history...

Buffalo, NY – On August 28th, 1952, Mario Cuomo, 20, future governor of New York (and father of current gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo), was hit in the head and knocked out by a pitch while playing professional baseball for the Class D Brunswick Pirates in a Georgia-Florida league baseball game in Brunswick GA; it would be Cuomo's last pro game.
