Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and the top members of the City Police Department met with reporters late Monday morning at City Hall to offer an update on the weekend's deadly shootings.

"The quadruple homicide was particularly violent," said Mayor Brown.

Police continue calling on anyone in the community who might have information leading to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.

Mayor Brown and Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda stressed that there were at least 100 people or more at the City Grill early Saturday morning when the shootings occurred. Eight people were shot, four died and four were wounded. But more witness information is needed to track the killer.

"We need people to come forward and let us know what they've seen,"

Mayor Brown said an appeal to the local clergy over the weekend is beginning to bear fruit. But they still need more help.

"Ultimately what we need is people to come forward as witnesses and share what they know," said Mayor Brown.

Commissioner Derenda said they are making progress in the investigation. Citizens are calling in with tips and also providing text message tips.

Commissioner Derenda said his department is working around the clock to solve the murders.

"We are not going to stop until we bring this killer to justice," said Derenda.
