Buffalo, NY – New York State Assemblymen Richard Brodsky and Sam Hoyt are pushing for greater transparency and accountability in the distribution of bonuses to local public authorities.
The pair of lawmakers are investigating better than five million dollars in bonuses that have been awarded at a fiscally sensitive time for the state. Among those distributions in question are sixty thousand dollars to an executive at the Genesee County Industrial Development Agency and a seventy thousand dollar bonus awarded at Erie County Medical Center.
The lawmakers are not targeting earned bonuses but are looking to prevent the padding of paychecks to executives.
