Buffalo, NY – The Centennial Pool at LaSalle Park is finally reopening after being closed for seven years.
The city of Buffalo spent $3 million to rebuild Centennial Pool. They made a lot of improvements to it, including handicapped accessibility.
Mayor Byron Brown joined city workers and community residents at LaSalle Park for the formal opening of the pool. Brown says the time and money spent on the project has been well worth it.
"Centennial Pool will reopen for the first time since 2003," Brown said. "As I walked up and saw the pool, I don't think it has ever looked this good."
Brown also says that he plans to bring more improvements to LaSalle Park, including repaved parking lots and new landscaping.
