Buffalo, NY – A formal unveiling was held Monday morning outside of Grover Cleveland High School on the City's West Side. An 8 foot tall likeness of the former U.S. President Grover Cleveland was dedicated.

The wooden statue was carved from a 150 year old silver maple tree that once stood along Lafayette Avenue.

The tree was knocked down in the October 2006 storm. Carvings for a Cause has been creating statues of many prominent and historic figures since the storm to give the fallen trees new life.

Grover Cleveland was the nation's 24th President. He also served as Erie County Sheriff and Buffalo Mayor. Cleveland's grandson, George Cleveland, appeared at the school for Monday's unveiling.
