Buffalo, NY – An undercover operation has broken an illegal wholesale cigarette scheme.
Long Island wholesaler Gutlove and Shirvint was setting up phony buyers out of state, who then would sell the cigarettes to the wholesaler for shipment to the Peace Pipe Smoke Shop operated on the Poospatuck Reservation on Long Island.
The complicated scheme was established to circumvent a ban on cigarette sales to the wholesaler by Philip Morris.
The Seneca Nation assisted in the undercover operation.
