Federal investigators target Espada and Pigeon

By Chris Jamele

Buffalo, NY – State Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada, Jr., best known for helping to orchestrate the Republican coup in Albany that shut down the Legislature for a month, is the subject of a federal investigation.

According to the Buffalo News, Espada, a Bronx Democrat, along with his Senate counsel, Steven Pigeon, are being investigated for payments made by GDP Consulting to what appears to be a bogus address in the Bronx.

Pigeon appears to have connections with the local consulting firm. Tax issues and money laundering charges are being mentioned.

Neither Espada nor Pigeon would respond to requests for comments.
