Buffalo, NY – A Marine from Buffalo is the latest war casualty in Afghanistan.
25 year old Sergeant Frank World was killed Thursday. His family says he was hit by an improvised explosive device while traveling in an armored vehicle.
World grew up in Buffalo's Riverside area. He was a graduate of the Riverside Institute of Technology.
This was World's second tour of duty. He had returned from Iraq in 2004. World was scheduled to return from Afghanistan next month.
World leaves behind his wife Beth, their 3 year old son Jacob and his two month old daughter Lilly, who he never had a chance to meet. World is also the brother of Buffalo firefighter Larry World.
