Buffalo, NY – Catholic Charities has launched its Appeal Week and is already halfway toward its fundraising goal.
At St. Amelia School in Tonawanda Monday, Bishop Edward Kmiec thanked students and parishioners for their efforts. So far, Kmiec says Western New York parishes have raised more than $6 million for Catholic Charities.
"While today we celebrate the progress of this weekend's efforts, we know this is just the start of a great week of effort and sacrifice," Kmiec said. "We will continue to build upon this progress in the weeks and months ahead to ensure that the good works of this organization can reach and help the tens and thousands of individuals who need it."
Catholic Charities hopes to raise $10.5 million dollars by the end of this week to support its programs and services.
