Buffalo, NY – A State Supreme Court jury has awarded the purchase price as restitution to the buyers of a sinking home in Amherst.
Anthony and Karen Regan have been awarded nearly three hundred thousand dollars for a home they purchased on Blue Heron Court and which, unbeknownst to them, was among those in the area that have been sinking due to soil problems. According to the Buffalo News, the jury decision found fault with the previous homeowners, the real estate firm listing the home and the real estate agent handling the sale.
This is being recognized as the first decision of its kind in cases involving Amherst's sinking homes.
