Albany, NY – Governor David Paterson says he will remain in office until an investigation by the Attorney General is complete.
Tuesday, after meeting with Democratic leaders, Paterson said he would be cleared of allegations that he played a role in pressuring a woman to drop a domestic violence charge against one of his top aids.
But the scandal deepened Tuesday as well, with the resignation of State Police Superintendent Harry Corbitt, who said the attention and pressure on him and his family was "unacceptable."
Paterson would not comment when asked if he called for Corbitt's resignation.
