Buffalo, NY – Buffalo city Comptroller Andrew SanFilippo has identified a growing surplus in the city's budget.
Mayor Byron Brown has identified fifteen million dollars that could be used for programs to boost the city as well as job creation efforts. There could also be a three percent tax cut for property owners in July's proposed budget.
In a related story, cost savings, increased revenues and lower interest costs on a county loan have cut Erie County's proposed budget gap in half. The revised twenty-three million dollar gap could still be further lowered over the next few months.
