Albany, NY – An online registry to gather the names of New Yorkers in Haiti during Tuesday's earthquake is set to go live.
Governor David Paterson says it's intended to help what may be a long process finding New Yorkers on the devastated island. He says the Web site and a toll-free telephone hot line will be available starting at noon Friday.
They'll offer ways to register the names of people who haven't been accounted for and collect contact information. The registry link is on the governor's Web site - www.ny.gov/governor. The hot line number is 1-888-769-7243.
