Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Common Council Thursday officially appointed Curtis Haynes, Jr. as the Ellicott District's new representative. He succeeds Brian Davis, who resigned late last year for misusing campaign funds.
Haynes is an economics professor at Buffalo State. His appointment was approved by a six to two margin.
University District Council Member Bonnie Russell and the Masten District's Demone Smith supported the Reverend Darius Pridgen for the seat. Pridgen is not sure if he'll challenge Haynes this fall. But another contender for the seat, firefighter Bryon McIntyre, does plan to run.
