Religion, Culture and Domestic Violence - Hinduism

By Joyce Kryszak

Buffalo, NY – Immigrants who come to the United States mostly are eager to become part of the American melting pot. Still, some cultures have a harder time or are reluctant to assimilate into a culture with such vastly different traditions. Experts say some of the cultural and religious traditions that linger can pose a danger to victims of domestic violence.

On Tuesday, WBFO's Joyce Kryszak continued WBFO's series exploring religion, culture and domestic violence. She talked with Shri Vijay Chakravarthy, a Hindu priest and president of the Western New York Hindu Temple, about the struggle to protect both victims - and the Hindu faith.
