Buffalo, NY – A blaze caused by a Menorah candle raced through an Eggertsville home Friday night.
The house on Delta Road suffered more than one hundred thousand dollars worth of damage. No resident was injured in the blaze, but the family cat did perish.
The hanukkah celebration calls for lighting a candle for eight consecutive nights. The final candle in the family's menorah was allowed to burn down, igniting the fire in a bedroom.
Fire investigators are calling the fire an accident.
