Buffalo, NY – An annual report says cancer death rates in the U.S. continue to decline. Top researchers say their optimism is due to better screening and treatment.
The report compiled by leading health and cancer organizations finds that rates of new diagnoses and rates of death from all cancers declined significantly for men and women from the late 90s through 2006. Dr. Candace Johnson is deputy director of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She has reviewed the report and joined us on the phone Tuesday afternoon to talk about it.
