Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Police Department says a suspect arrested on Tuesday for a bank robbery in Niagara Falls has now been charged in two other bank jobs in Buffalo.
Thirty-two year old David Anderson is facing felony charges in all three cases. Anderson is accused of robbing the M&T Bank on Main Street in Niagara Falls, along with the HSBC Bank on Elmwood and the Key Bank on Seneca Street in Buffalo.
Chief of Detectives Dennis Richards says threatening notes were used by Anderson in all three incidents.
"We are very fortunate to have the services of crime analysts from the Erie Crime Analysis Center, who assist law enforcement agencies throughout western New York," Richards says. "In these cases, crimes occurred in different parts of Buffalo and in Niagara Falls, yet analysts and detectives were able to note the similarities, obtain identifications from witnesses, and appropriately charge the defendant."
In a separate incident Friday, police investigated an armed robbery at a Bank of America branch on Main Street in the city's Central Park neighborhood shortly before noon. So far, there are no arrests.
