Buffalo, NY – New Era Cap Company wants to consolidate its three manufacturing facilities into a single operation. That move could mean closing the company's plant in Derby.
New Era has already decided to close one of it's Alabama plants and now must determine whether to shut-down either a second plant in that State or the Derby facility. Company President Pete Augustine says the poor economy is forcing the company to streamline operations, however, there could be anexpansion of up to 100 jobs at the remaining facility once things improve.
The company's headquarters on Delaware Avenue will not affected by these plans.
New Era is a hat and apparel manufacturer and the principal supplier of Major League Baseball.
