Texting While Driving Now Illegal

Buffalo, NY – The ban on texting while driving in New York State goes into effect today.

The law makes texting while at the wheel a secondary offense, carrying a fine of up to one hundred and fifty dollars.

Legislators in Erie County have approved making the violation a primary offense. That measure is awaiting a signature by County Executive Chris Collins.
