Niagara Falls, NY – The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University received a significant gift from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The museum has received 158 original Andy Warhol Polaroid photographs and silk screens for its permanent collection.
In honor of its 20th anniversary, the Foundation is distributing 28,000 original Warhol photographs. The museum is one of only two institutions in Western New York to be awarded this gift. The new items include several Warhol silk screens featuring his famous Campbell's tomato soup can,the Birmingham Race Riot and Jackie Kennedy. Castellani curator of collections and exhibitions Michael Beam and coordinator of events and publicity Susan Clements explain the pieces.
