Buffalo, NY – A new report released by the Brookings Institution Thursday finds that 77 percent of arriving flights at Buffalo Niagara International Airport are on time.
Buffalo's rate is better than airports in New York City, Rochester and Syracuse. The average length of a late arriving flight in Buffalo is just over 55 minutes.
NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmayer says airports in the Northeast are affected by weather and what happens elsewhere. If a plane is late leaving another city, he says it will affect its arrival time in Buffalo.
The airport that has the best arrival rate is Salt Lake City's where 86 percent of flights arrive on time.
