Wednesday Night Concert with Mark Norris and the Backpeddlers

Buffalo, NY – Fans of Mark Norris' former band, girlpope, will tell you that the band's stock and trade was brash, aggressive rock. With his new group, the Backpeddlers, Norris naturally leaned in a different direction musical subtlety and lyrical introspection. Upon release, the Backpeddlers' debut CD, Stranded Between Stations, was immediately hailed by the Buffalo News as the sound of "The Basement Tapes recorded with Ray Davies instead of Bob Dylan." Now with a few years of playing under its collective belt, the Backpeddlers are venturing into louder, more aggressive musical territory. Still, the soft and quiet songs that earned the band its early accolades are a staple of the Backpeddlers' live performances.
