Buffalo, NY – A severe thunderstorm warning has expired for Erie, Niagara and Chautauqua Counties.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for all of Western New York until midnight.
There is also a flood advisory for urban and small streams in Western New York until 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
The quick moving storms delivered frequent lightening,thunder and very strong winds. Heavy rains also caused some minor flooding and pounding. WBFO News had reports of some flooded areas along Sherdian Drive in Tonawanda near Belmont.
Some other area streets in Kenmore also had minor flooding due to fierce rains.
There are reports that Buffalo Fire fighters had to rescue a driver from a flooded viaduct on Skillen Street in the City of Buffalo.
And reported trees downed in Niagra County in the town of Wheatfield.
