Pine Grill Jazz Reunion Celebrates 20th Year

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – The Pine Grill Jazz Reunion celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend and next with two great concerts featuring nationally-known artists and local performers.

The Pine Grill nightclub was a legendary jazz venue at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and East Ferry Street. It may be no more, but its legacy lives on with this annualfconcert series, sponsored by the African-American Cultural Center.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park is the place to be this Sunday and again, on Sunday, August 9th, starting at 4 each afternoon. It's free.

Former Common Council President George Arthur founded the Pine Grill Jazz Reunion in 1989. He joined us on the phone from his Buffalo home. Click the audio player above to hear Mark Scott's interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
