Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown has officially filed over 21,000 signatures for his re-election bid.
"I thank all the city residents who showed confidence in me by signing these nominating petitions," said Brown.
Brown filed his Democratic Party petitions at Monday at the Erie County Board of Elections on West Eagle Street in downtown Buffalo. Brown actually collected more than ten times the number of signatures required by state election law.
"These signatures, coming from evey section of Buffalo, demonstrate my campaign's broad base of support and I'm deeply honored by this overwhelming support of my candidacy for re-election as Mayor of Buffalo," said Brown.
Brown says his biggest challenge in this re-election is to connect with the "voters". South District Council member Michael Kearns will be running against Brown in the Democratic primary.
