Amherst, NY – Amherst Police say an 18 year old was seriously injured early Thursday morning when his vehicle slammed into a utility pole. The crash occurred along Meyer Road just after 2 a.m. Thursday.
Fire officials at the scene of the crash say the driver was ejected and the force of the crash tore the car in half. The Buffalo News identifies the teen as Mark Steinkirchner. He is listed in critical condition at the Erie County Medical Center.
Meyer Road behind the Tops on Maple and North Bailey was closed for several hours, but reopened after 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
